AMSOIL High Quality Coolant/Antifreeze Product Line

Continuing on with my series on Discovering AMSOIL, our coolant / antifreeze product line.  It just so happened, coincidentally enough, AMSOIL posted on their blog a good article on why a good quality coolant is important and how AMSOIL products can provide that quality.   Read the full article here, but let me point out some interesting tidbits. A large percentage of engine failures can be linked to the cooling system.  One of the more important things to take care of is to be sure that your coolant is flowing freely.  Over time, sludge can form leading to a plugged radiator or …

AMSOIL is So Much More than Just Motor Oil

AMSOIL has always been known as the leader in synthetic motor oils, getting it’s start back in 1972 when AMSOIL President and CEO Al Amatuzio released the first synthetic motor oil in the world to  meet American Petroleum Institute service requirements.  Rightly so, most everyone is first introduced to AMSOIL first through their motor oil. AMSOIL of course provides a wide range of motor oils for all gasoline engines.  Most popular is perhaps the Signature Series.  Featuring superior protection and performance as well as extended drain cycles of up to 25,000 miles or one-year.   They also have a full …

Law of the Mirror

Being an AMSOIL dealer is more than just selling a great product.  To be truly successful with AMSOIL or any business venture actually, you must build your business.  AMSOIL is not a get rich quick scheme, it’s about business development for yourself and the dealers you sponsor. I read a lot of books, business and personal growth ones being one of the genre’s I enjoy.  I like to continually learn about business, life and myself and reading a multitude of books throughout the year is one of my favorite ways to grow in those areas.  On of the books I’m …

Why Synthetics?

So people ask me a lot, why AMSOIL? They want to know why they should choose AMSOIL over a brand they may find in a big box store. To understand that, I think we need to first look at why they should choose synthetic over conventional lubricants. Why Synthetics Conventional oils are refined from crude oil. Crude oil has impurities that naturally occur, things that can’t be completely removed during the refining process. These impurities mix with the molecular chains of hydrogen and carbon (hydrocarbons) that cause there to be less saturation of the carbon-hydrogen (CH) bonds. The higher the …

Frustration Leads to Growth

Good friend, high school mate and fellow AMSOIL Dealer, Michael Sparks recently posted on his blog asking the question, Are you a frustrated AMSOIL dealer?   It got me thinking, I’m by no means as successful as Michael is.  He’s been at it much longer than I have and his success is a strong indicator of the amount of effort he puts into his business.  My success, is a direct result of the effort I’ve put into my business. This isn’t my first go around with my own business.  I ran a computer consulting business for about 10 years.  Five years …

In the November issue of AMSOIL Magazine for Preferred Customers, the following recommendations are given: Lubricants: Store at temperatures at least 10°F above the lubricant’s pour point. Greases: Store in a dry environment at temperatures above freezing (32°F). Gasoline Additives, Engine and Transmission Flush: …

Why Lubricate Your Air Tools?

Most mechanics will tell you that keeping your air tools (grinders, impact wrenches, drills, sanders, …) well lubricated will improve the performance and lifespan of your air tools.  And it really doesn’t take much time to keep them well lubricated. Your air tool has a motor with machine polished surfaces much like the cylinders in your car’s engine.  Contaminants like water and dirt can quickly destroy those surfaces causing premature wear to the motor.  While there are many things you can do to reduce the risk of these contaminates, like draining and purging your entire air system to simply never …

Diesel Fuel and Cold Weather

While it’s been a pretty mild winter so far in northeast Ohio,  we can be pretty certain that colder weather is coming as we head into the heart of winter.  Cold winter weather has some interesting effects on diesel fuel. Gelling Diesel fuel turns to a gel-like consistency as it approaches what is know as the cloud point.  The cloud point is defined as the temperature below which wax in diesel forms a cloud appearance.  When the wax is solidifying it will thicken the oil and clog fuel filters and injectors in engines.  The crystals formed will build up in …
